RENTING A CAR

Please bring a valid driver’s license, credit card and your reservation confirmation to the reception counter to complete your rental agreement and pick up your car. We will also require your home address, a phone number and email address. Our car rental agent will go over your rental agreement and answer any questions you may have. After you sign the contract, you will receive your keys and your rental car.

AGE

We rent cars to drivers that are 21 years of age or older. An additional fee will apply to customers who are 21 to 24 years old which is much lower than our competitors’ rates.
HOWEVER, FORD TRANSIT-350 (15 PV) OR SIMILAR CANNOT BE RENT TO THOSE WHO ARE UNDER 25 YEARS OLD.

DRIVERS LICENCE

WE ALLOW YOUR LOCAL DRIVER'S LICENCE TO RENT A CAR. THOUGH It is possible to rent a car without your international driver’s license, if you are involved in an accident where police enforcement has to fill out an accident report, it may require extra time and hassle for processing. Driving without your international driver’s license is not against the law but it is highly recommended you bring it with you when planning to rent a car.
Please contact us for more information.

    ACCIDENT

*In the event an accident occurs involving your rental car, please notify the police, emergency services and Sakura Rent a Car.

    1. Immediately Report the Accident to the Police

We recommend you carry a mobile phone in case of emergency. If you are involved in an accident, please call 911 for assistance and emergency services. Calling from a mobile phone will allow you to stay at the scene of the accident and discourages the other party involved from attempting to leave the scene before the police arrive. If you do not have a mobile phone, please call 911 from a nearby public or pay phone. If possible, have someone stay at the scene to help ensure all involved remain at the accident until emergency services arrive.

    2. Contact Sakura Rent a Car

After you have contacted the police, please call your Sakura Rent a Car rental office to report the accident and arrange for a Sakura Rent a Car agent to speak to the police or other involved parties if necessary.

    3. Answer The Police Officer’s Questions About The Accident

When the police arrive, please follow their instructions. The officer will ask you for your driver’s license and rental contract and will take statements from all drivers involved in the car accident to determine if a police report is necessary. If you have problems communicating with police or others involved in the accident, our bilingual car rental agents will help interpret. If a police report is issued, please bring a copy with you when you return your rental car.

    4. If The Police Won’t Come To The Scene of a Minor Accident

Police officers may not come to the scene if the accident is minor. In that case, you must act on your own. Please get the names, addresses and phone numbers of all the other drivers involved in the accident. Write down the make, model, year and license plate number of each car. Be sure to obtain all insurance information including the company, policy number and any insurance agent contact information the driver can provide. Photograph damage to your car and the other cars involved in the accident. This will help document the damage when you submit an accident claim to the insurance company.

    5. Collect Witnesses’ Information

Ask for names and contact information for any witnesses to the accident.
